YARD DRAIN, YARD DRAIN DAMAGED0110 YARD DRAIN(S) DAMAGED / AMISS / SCREEN MISSING: Although the inspection company does not review the operational ability of yard drain some problems may be noticed by the inspector This may include whether the drain openings are clogged with dirt, are broken, or are lacking screens. The drain may be too high above the surrounding soil rendering it useless. Most yard drain systems terminate at the curb but some may terminate in the yard above the curb in a "diffusion area" such as a gravel bed Yard drain screens are easy to repair but may have to be hand made if the system is very old. Newer screens and other parts are available at Building Supply Centers everywhere Clogged drains usually can be cleared by pushing a running water hose through the pipe. Severely clogged pipes may require the services of a Plumbing or Drain Cleaning Company.
