DOWNSPOUT EXTENSION

DOWNSPOUT EXTENSION RECOMMENDED: The control of water from a roof system is, for the most part, controlled by the size and number of downspouts. Generally one downspout should service no more than 35 feet of guttering. The precise calculations would take into consideration the rate and duration of the average rain, the incline of the roof and the amount of roof surface serviced. This item was marked because the inspector felt a problem existed, or will exist, without the extension of some or all of your downspouts. The more water around a building foundation the higher the possibility of problems Downspouts can be extended with plastic pipe, with water-weight roll out types which are like coiled plastic tubes, or with a concrete or fiberglass catch and chute system, which is really just a shaped mass of concrete which directs the water away from the building a few feet  Materials and/or ready made "splash blocks" may be purchased from any Lumber Yard or Home Improvement Store  If you need assistance contact a Gutter Installation Company or a Landscape Contractor.
